Note: As of March 2025, we have opted to install a metal serial number tag INSIDE the tube showing ‘GF-Select’ and an unique serial number per tube, with no redundant printing on the tube glass.

It will give users a ‘clean look’ for the tube glow, no more mis-aligned logo directions to certain amplifier brand, no more color-faded logo from tube heat. The serial number tag differentiates our ‘Special Edition (SE)’ tubes from counterfeit / knock-off’s on the market.  We have also enhanced the tube design for better measurement and longevity by implementing our know-how’s from our decades of handling high end tubes.

Tube Fitting: (check on your amp before order)

The 6SN7-SE widest part is 58.5mm (2 1/3″) diameter. If your amp have 2 x 6SN7 side by side in a very tight space, be sure to measure the space first (from center to center of the tube sockets = no less than 58.5mm (2 1/3″) before placing an order. A workaround this issue could be using a ‘tube socket adaptor’ to raise one tube up, creating extra space between tubes. See this post for details.  We do not sell the adaptor – they are available from DIY parts vendors on internet. Be sure to choose high quality ones from reputable vendor but not cheap online vendors – low quality socket adapters will create and introduce noise to tubes and may even short the tubes through current leakage.)

One very experienced distributor / dealer for ultra high end audio equipment in USA, who had the opportunity to audition this 6SN7SE model of tube,  said: “I have so many 6SN7’s and actually like the TJ Full Music brass bottom, gold pin, ST shape 6SN7, as much as any NOS vintage tube! These globes were even better!”

In order to ensure this Special Edition MKII globe shape 6SN7 to be of the best possible quality, we actually throw away over 50% of all finished production tubes in order not to compromise on final quality. After the initial screening, the QC passing tubes are further screened for low noise, section balancing and optimal plate current etc. All Grant Fidelity screening efforts have resulted this Globe 6SN7-SE to be a limited edition for worldwide audiophiles who demand the very best quality. There are two grades available – Low noise preamp application and Driver stage application. The driver stage grade tubes do not go through rigorous noise testing and are not recommended for highly sensitive high end pre-amplifiers.
